Question Chinese Consulate/Embassy question

What's the average time it takes for the Consulate/Embassy to return your documents to you? We just mailed document to the Consulate in NY and the Embassy in DC.

Thanks
Judy

As we are in Michigan, our documents went to the Embassy in Chicago. They were back to us in about 7 days..it was shortest wait time in the entire process. So you are in the home stretch in the paper chase....YIPPEE! It's hard to believe we have finished the paperchase and are now "paper pregnant". We were officially DTC on 12/27/06 and are anxiously awaiting our LID. Good luck...hope everything goes smoothly.

Mine went to Chicago and I live in Michigan. It was 6 days including one weekend. This was last October/early November.

Ours was 12 days, but we were missing a document and in turn additional fees for that doc...so w/errors, it was relatively a short period time!

Judy ~ We're using CCAI also and nearing the end of our paperchase. Our documents are up at the Chinese Consulate in NY waiting for authenication and then on to the Huston Consulate. We'll have to chat later on when we're ready to submit to China.

Good luck!!

NY Consulate for us back in May took 10 business days. I only had to use them for our birth certificates which were done early in the process. I think if they were my main consulate I would have used a courier which would have been faster.

For those using Houston -- they are very quick 4 business days.

I used FedEx to deliver and USPS to deliver it back.

Judy,

Just wanted to give you an update: I just received our BC/MC today. We FedEx'd them on on Jan. 3rd to the NY Chinese Consulate. Our agency suggested that we check 4 day turnaround on the form. Hopefully you'll be getting yours soon.

I'll send you a PM when we're DTC. They think we might be in February. How about you??
