I was just wondering if anyone out there switched agencies to adopt a waiting child. With the long wait looming, I have been searching the waiting child lists. Usually the babies I find are either in the process of adoptin or sloce to it. I was wondering if someone has, what are the pros and cons. I'm sure there would be some money lost. Also, I'm wondering how the agencies handles the situation. Thanks. Erik

That's something you'd need to discuss with your current agency and the agency with the childs file. SOmetimes they will work together just to get the child a family, sometimes they won't. I have heard of it happening, a few times. Sometimes if the childs file is to go back to the CCAA soon the agency with the file can put a note with it saying there is a family with such and such agency who would like to adopt this child. This happened to my friend last yr and in Aug. 2005 she brought her little girl home.
ALl you can do is ask the agencies involved and see what they say. Good luck Shelley
