Some agencies to start out looking at are: Dillon International (Www.dillonadopt.com - this is the one I am using). A Helping Hand (in KY - a christian agency), Harrahs, ACAA, Great Wall of China....I have heard good things about all of these agencies. They all have web sites, but I do not know what they are. You might also want to check the FCC website (FCC.org I think, but am not sure). There are some good e-mail groups in yahoogroups as well.

Feel free to contact me at wmpott@aol.com

If you are not through with your home study you will want to get that started as it can take as much as 4 months to finish that step and it is better to have you paperwork to ins sent in quickly too. Good luck

I think the hardest decision was choosing an agency. What we found to be really helpful was talking with people who had already completed an adoption thru China. We starting going to meetings at a local support group for families adopting/adopted from China.
It was extremely helpful to talk to these families regarding the different agencies they used and why. From there I pick 3 of the most recommended agencies and then contacted them myself. Maybe there is a support group in your area who could be of some help.

Once we decided on the agency-our China coordinator has be beyond helpful in walking us through the process. (waiting for our last visit with social worker for homestudy to be complete)

Good luck in your journey (we are using International Families, Inc)

Karen

I have another agency I am working with called the Premier Adoption agency in Utah and chose them because they are local and have a 501 account for their clients to use for fund raising that benefits their donors with a 100 % tax deduciton. They can be found at www.premieradoption.org
