Passport photos

Ok, I am confused. What should I use for a passport photo? It says "snapshots" are not acceptable- does this mean a regular 35 mm photograph is not OK- or do they mean poloroid?

In order to get the right size and all, you should get your passport photos taken at a place that does them routinely. There's usually a place right next to a Passport Agency, if you happen to be in a major U.S. city, such as Washington, DC. Otherwise, go to a camera store or other photo place that has a passport photos sign in the window. The passport photos are processed while you wait, and not very expensive.

Ok, and then when it says you need 2 of them, can it be the same picture, just 2 copies or must it be two different pictures?

We got ours done at CVS. Really inexpensive. And you get like 6 or 8 of them - You can use the extras for your dossier.

They do not have to be the same. In our case, we needed 3 photos each. Three of me and three of my husband. We had ours done at Walgreen's. It is inexpensive and the pics can be picked up the same day.

Us

HI!
We just took real close up pictures of ourselves & them printed them in wallet size on our computer, which was 2 X 2, that fit in the specs perfectly! I'm a cheapskate- I wasn't about to pay $45.00 for passport photos- that was $15 per person for just two photos, and with our agency, we needed extra ones.
Looking at the big picture, a few bucks to make sure they are right, really are worth it though.

We had ours taken at Costco then had to go back a week later to get another set for the dossier. I wore the same outfit so that if they looked a little different at least they would be in the same clothes. Turns out our pictures were still in their camera, so we were able to get reprints.
