Visa question

Hi All
I hate to sound ignorant, but I am really not understanding when we are to apply for our VISA. In our adoption travel packet it states we will be told when to apply.

Can someone explain this process to me.

We are awaiting TA for a SN little boy. I'm afraid there won't be enough time after TA and I am stressing on when and how to do this.
Thanks!
Maria

Maria - there will be enough time and your travel agency will do this for you. They need the dates of travel to apply for the visa.

Some people have used other services to get their visas ahead of time but it does seem easier to let the travel agency handle it.

I waited until after 60 days from our LID. The Visa is good for 90 days and you don't need the dates for travel.

Our adoption agency doesn't have a travel agency that helps you get the Visa.

I had always assumed that you needed to get your Visa from the same Chinese Consulate where you had your dossier authenticated, but that is not true. I got my Visa through the Washington DC Consulate using a great courier service. PM me for the name of the awesome courier service I used, if you want.
