We made an infopass appt (thru the USCIS website) and took our completed home study with us. They took our money, hs, and I600a, and gave us a fingerprint appointment slip, so we drove the mile or so to the fingerprint place and did it right then. It worked out great. That was the first part of May, and we got our 171h back within two weeks. A very easy process, all in all. Don't know if they are still as efficient, but let's hope so!

Our's should have only been about 2 weeks, but they needed one more paper from Maine, ended up being 4 weeks, our friends only took 9 days! This was in July this year. There are a lot of Utahns adopting right now, and you are in the same spot in the process as many of us! Good luck!!

I think they do several events each year (in fact, I think they had a picnic last Saturday) but the SLC area folks are just too far for us. There is a small group called Cache Valley Families with Asian Children, or something like that, and we had a very nice picnic/party in July. One family was from Perry, I think. They had twin little girls! So, I'm sure you'd be welcome if you were interested. What agency are you using?
