? for Missouri people re: I-600A

We are wanting to do as much as we can so it doesn't take so long once our hs is finished. Can we file the I600A before completing the hs or do we need to wait? Pretty much that's all we need to do besides getting our passports which we're doing tomorrow. Then we'll do the hs (hopefully VERY quickly) and have the papers certified and authenticated. I was also told by a friend that I can walk the papers downtown to be certified on the spot. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

You're moving along nicely on your paperwork..congrats! I would talk with your SW and see if you can file your 1600A before your HS is complete. I'm from Wisconsin and I was able to file the 1600A before my HS was done. Then once my HS was turned into the USCIS office, I received a letter stating when to come in for fingerprints. As far as the certification goes, here in Wisconsin they did not accept walk-ins. But the wait was not long by mail. I think it was only one day. Best of luck to you!

We are in KC and we had to have our passport back and our HS to get our Finger prints done and turn in our I-600. It took 5 weeks to get back our I-171.
if you have any other questions just ask
Kim

We are in SW Mo and we waited until our homestudy was complete, then took everything (I-600A and homestudy) to K.C. and did our fingerprinting then. Once our homestudy was complete, we got online and scheduled our KC appt through info-pass. It's really easy and you can get your appt very quick. It took 6 weeks to get our I-171h back...this was about a month ago. Oh, one more thing, when we applied for our passports this past Feb, it took 8 weeks to get them.

Feel free to ask if you have more questions. Good luck!

Thanks for the responses, although I was REALLY hoping for responses like..."sure! Go get it done!!!"
lol!
My agency doesn't assign a sw until the autobiographies are in...dh is a slacker!!!! He's making me write his....I'm gonna make myself look REALLY good!

The good thing is I can walk the papers to the agency since they're about 15 minutes away from my house! I guess there's no sense in stressing about things I can't control. I know my baby girl is waiting for me somewhere!
Thanks again!
