Referrals are happening

Rumor Queen has stated that two agencies have begun making calls for the next batch of referrals. She was uncertain of what the cut off date would be. The people who had received calls had LID's of 7/19 and 7/20. She did not say what agencies.

What a drag. It looks like it will only go to 7/22. I thought we were getting close but now it seems like we won't get a referral until the end of the year. I now feel that if I were signing up now, I would not choose China. The program now looks to be heading for 2-3 year wait cycle.

Referrals

You mean it took a MONTH for referrals, and they only got through ONE MORE WEEK of LIDS?
I don't get it- isn't it in the best interest of China for happy homes for the children, not have a drain on society as far as orphanages, get the orphanage donations, help the orphaned children find loving homes? Why is the process SLOWING DOWN, and not speeding up? In the states, if the foster care system had a chance to find loving homes for all the children waiting for forever families, wouldn't they do whatever it took to speed it up & get the kids in a happy home?
I don't get it.
Melissa

It looks like the cut-off is July 22. I'm just sick...

Melissa, a friend adopted three kids through foster care. It took about two years each.

So far I think the cutoff is July 22, I am so saddened by this! Tomorrow is our 13 months LID anniversary...........so it looks like it be 14 months from LID to referral.......However I have not heard anything from our agency, I am getting this info off of our July Yahoo board as far as the cuttoff goes......I just can't understand how and why they only did 9 days worth of LID's.....????

Jenn -- I'm sorry that they missed you by a couple of days.

This is very disheartening. They only did 7 business days. We are were just DTC 8/14. If they keep doing this length of time, I will need to collect social security. I knew going into this it would be a 12-14 month wait. Now....it looks like it will be so much longer unless CCAA starts matching more....

Referrals

This means the next batch is of referrals will have had a wait time of 14 months . If they continue to do 2 weeks or less each month, by December or January the wait will have expanded to 18 months . I know some agencies are telling people they expect the wait to level off at 12 to 14 months. I don't see how they can do this until the CCAA starts matching a full months worth of referrals at a time. Any agency that would make those types of statements is really doing a disservice to their clients.

Thanks Jen!

I was so heartbroken last night, I'm still sad but I'm ok, I've waited this long so why not another month?? the only thing I can say is I'm pretty sure we will see our sweet daughter's face toward the end of September (I sure hope so) I hope for everyone's sake the CCAA will speed back up, this is so overwhelming for everyone!!

I really feel like puking right now. if this turns out to be true, it just may mean the end of our journey.

We are only at the 4 month waiting mark, and were totally accepting of the possible 14-18 month wait. We just aren't prepared for a 24-36 month wait.

It's not that we will be too old, only 35-36 at the end of that wait, but there are so many things that are totally on hold for us right now, and it is putting a major strain on our relationship.

Sorry to all the "old-timers" out there. I really feel for those of you that are just missing your referrals. If we feel this way at this point, I can't imagine what it would be from your end.

I truly hope that a wave of good karma washes over all those poor children in the orphanages, and all us waiting families.

Good luck to all, may all our journeys end happily very soon.

How Long?

How long does it take the CCAA website to update their information, as far as referral go?
I talked to my agency today- they said so far they've heard RUMORS of the referral time frame, but nothing concrete. Wouldn't they know before anyone else?
Very disheartening.
