? re: homestudy, I-600A, & critical review

We are getting ready to send in our homestudy agreement to the agency. We are in Missouri. Can we go ahead and file the I-600A before the homestudy is finished or do we have to wait? We've lost a lot of time this summer waiting on $$ so we want to make up as much ground as we can.

Also, I read a post talking about an expedited homestudy...what is that?

And, what exactly is "critical review"? Just the sound of that makes me nervous...has anyone NOT made it through the review room?

You can go ahead and file, but I'd suggest either being done with your HS or being almost finished when you file. The I-600A only last for 15 months...

Fingerprints are good for 15 months. The I-171H is good for 18 months.

Agencies do a critical review on your dossier before it is sent to China. Basically, there are checking it to make sure everything is in order. Some agencies take 2-3 weeks to complete. Some, like mine, takes less than a day.

Your dossier will also go through review in the "review room" in China after you are logged in with the CCAA.

You can look on the CCAA's website to see which LID months have passed the review room.
