Adoption Cruise (X-Posted)

I posted about this a couple weeks ago on the Russian board, but the thread has vanished. I organize a lot of group cruises and my travel agent contacted me about a great deal on Carnival. This is for a 5 night cruise on Carnival's Celebration departing Monday, September 3, 2007 and returning Saturday, September 8.

Itinerary:

Monday, Jacksonville, FL - depart 4 PM.
Tuesday: Fun Day at Sea
Wed: Key West 7 AM - 3 PM
Thur: Nassau 11 AM - 10 PM
Fri. Fun Day at Sea
Sat. Jacksonville, FL - disembark at 7 AM.

Inside Cabins are $329 per person for the lst and 2nd person in cabin. $270 each for the 3rd and 4th person the sharing cabin.

Oceanview cabins are $379 per person for the lst and 2nd person; $290 each for the 3rd and 4th persons sharing the cabin.

Carnival has some cabins that will hold 5 - if needed.

These prices include all taxes and fees, so it's a really good deal for a 5 night cruise.

Oh--and this also includes a private party just for our group and any special programs we would like to set up. This could be things like a movie night, a baby games party or pretty much anything we can come up with. I've done several celebrity events with them and they've always been really terrific to work with.

If anyone wants to do this we would need a $25 per person deposit by July 26, 2006 with a full deposit of $200 by May of next year. We can set up a payment plan to make it really easy. The final payment will be due July 1, 2007. Anyone can cancel up to that time and get all their money back if they should need to. Penalties for cancellations don't start until July 3, 2007.

If anyone is interested in doing this, please send me a pm or email me at kizibits6@bellsouth.net.

FYI,

Don't forget that this time frame is the heart of hurricane season, which is why it's so cheap. If you do go, remember to buy insurance through your agent or through Carnival and plan on your trip possibly being shortened or disrupted by weather.

I've cruised 14 times in 15 years, so I can say from experience that if you decide to cruise that area, which is said to be hit hard this year, cover your behind! :-)

Good luck and be safe!

Fortunately hurricanes are something we get plenty of notice on, so the cruiselines are able to re-route their cruises to avoid the problem areas. I've done a ton of cruising, too, and we've never had a problem.

Actually, the reason this particular cruise is so cheap is that they offered me a really good deal to keep me from booking with another cruise line. Of course, this time of year is also the off season which helps, as well.

We too have done our share of cruising (but on another cruise line) and have gone at all different times of the year and have never had a problem. The cruise lines are pretty good about rerouting and the majority of the time you are not even aware of it (unless they take you to a different location which has only happened to us once but it was just as nice and we had a great time regardless). I do not know too much about the pricing with Carnival but this seems to be a great price compared to other cruise lines and a great way to get a big group together like this. Nice work on putting the numbers together .

So far 25 cabins have been claimed for the Celebrate Adoption cruise. There's still plenty of room for more, though! Please send me an email at kizibits6@bellsouth.net or PM me if you are interested so we can get the reservation info out to you.

Thanks!

I think this is a great idea. Maybe in a few years when our adoption is all paid for and he is older, this would be something we could do.

I know when you do group cruises when you book a certain number of cabins, you get a free one. I think it's every 8 cabins (16 berths). With 25, I imagine you're getting at least 2, possibly 3 free cabins....are those savings being passed down to the group rates or are those free cabins going to specific people?

As I have cruised several times during hurricane season, I can confirm that cruise lines do everything they can to avoid the nastiness. However, I would still purchase travel insurance, especially if you're flying in as hurricanes can wreak havoc with flight plans all over the country.

I usually get comped a suite when I do group cruises, but not this time. The price they are giving us is too good. I'm paying just like everyone else.
