Brown Envelope? But not "the" Brown Envelope...
Ok, I just put our I-600A in the mail Friday.
Today I received the letter telling us where to go to get fingerprinted. Is this fast? Or is this the quick part in getting the I-171H? Or am I just confused??? Or experiencing Paper chase fatigue? Hugs,

Not sure if I am any help, we filed on 5-26-06, and were fingerprinted the same day, about 10 days later, they called and said they needed another paper, got that sent and and about 10 days later we got our I-171. The guy that took our I-600A said it would be about 90 days, ours only took a month, even less if we had known about the other paper. So maybe they are going faster right now, one can hope!! We got our papers to take with us to China 5 days after we filed. Good luck and my fingers are crossed for you and a speedy I-171, maybe we will be DTC around the same time.

I say that you have a very fast INS office. You lucky girl!!! LOL! We waited for everything when it came to INS back in 2003-2004. In the end it was a 5 month process.
I was like a crazy woman waiting. Of course I look back now and know that if I didn't wait that long I wouldn't have my Olivia. Of course you couldn't tell me that then.

I hear ya! Even though things seem to be "slowing down" now in comparison to a year ago, it is still faster than it was just a few years ago. And I agree with you wholeheardely about the wait! Our quirky, unexplained delays were very frustrating and heart wrenching, but after receiving our daughter I realized that if it had not been for the delays, her dossier would not have been in the matching room the same time as ours. There is a grand plan! Melanie

We received our fingerprint appt notice a few days after we sent in our I600A, but our I-171H still took two months after our home study was submitted to them. I hope yours goes faster!
