USCIS appt in K.C Thursday - Personal Check or Money Order??
Hi, we made our USCIS appointment in K.C. through info pass for this Thursday. We are taking our I-600a and homestudy w/ us as well as getting our fingerprints done. Our social worker said she thought we could just take a personal check, but thought I'd verify that w/ you guys first. Is a personal check okay or should we get a money order?
Thanks! Laura |

I believe the KC office will take either one. When we were there 3 weeks ago, we took a money order just to be safe. No issues at all, other than just waiting for the 171-H!! Hope all goes well for you.

I would bring a cashier's check or money order to be on the safe side. I am in Southern california and I know we did not even have the option to bring a personal check. We were told to bring a cashier's check only.

Thanks
Thanks everybody. We got our fingerprints done yesterday! We ended up taking a personal check and had no problems at all. Now the wait begins. Looks like it's taking about 2 months per the USCIS website, but I'm crossing my fingers that time is off a bit! My husband knows someone that waited about 6 1/2 weeks out of K.C about a month ago.
Thanks again, Laura |
