Ok, I have been working on our "family blog" for practice before I start on our adoption blog.

I have been loading tons of pictures and posts over the last month and now my description, profile, and archives section is at the bottom of the page. What did I do wrong and how to I get my info to show at the top?

Also, I am confused about archives. I thought if you set it to "monthly" then all the posts in April would go into the April Archives and May would start a new page or section. Was I wrong or did I set it up wrong?

Hi Stephanie,
Go into template, scrool down to archives and set if for monthly. It is currently set for weekly. That should solve your problem.

Thank you but I have set it to monthly and nothing has changed. Any thoughts on how to get my profile back up to the top? That is what I am most concerned about.

Even though it's set for monthly, you still need to designate how many messages should display at a time. My archive is monthly but if I kept a full month always on display, the page would take forever to load (lots of photos!).


Also, the first problem should be corrected by making sure that you publish your blog after updating it. if that doesn't fix it, then make sure you've not put anything in that menu that is too wide. I tried to put a ticker in my menu and it caused that problem.

Steph, I just checked out your blog and you have a GAZILLION images on the first page! I have a fast connection and it's still not managed to load all of them! You should "break" them up by not allowing more than a half dozen or so to appear at a time. People with a slow connection wouldn't even be able to view your blog without locking up their machine.

One of your images is "summer 05) and it might be too wide to allow your menu to display alongside it. Try allowing fewer posts on the first page and see if that fixes the problem. Remember to republish your blog to view the changes.

Thank you so much. I set it to only 4 posts and that seemed to fix the problem and hopefully make it easier to load since I love to post a lot of pictures.
