Hi! I'm new to this board so forgive me if this post is too long...
I've been really focusing on China for adoption and want to make a decision soon, but I've been discouraged by posts about long wait times... for example - when I read posts like this: "I just got off the phone with someone from the Holt China team and my one question to her was "Any indication of things speeding up?" Her answer was eventually things should speed up, but they can foresee the wait getting longer (perhaps up to 18 months) before it gets shorter. I just can't believe this. I feel like we're NEVER going to get our daughter!!" and how about this: "Hi everyone! We also got a call from Holt. I mentioned to steve that a friend of mine using a different agency was just call last week. Her agency called to inform her that anyone with a DTC date of jan 1st on will be waiting 24 month. 24 months from Lid to refferal. Steve said that is a very long time and that he does not believe we will wait that long. Also that he has never seen the wait go past 16 month. " I've been simultaneously researching Korea and have the sense that the wait isn't as long as China... Any suggestions or insights? Theresa |
