I did a walk in appt at BCIS this morning to get our fingerprint appt letter. Fairly quick and easy. We are going for the fingerprinting tomorrow.

Unfortunately, they told me it is taking about 4 weeks for the fingerprints to be input into the system once they are cleared. Bummer! We were hoping to get our prints done tommorrow, then have the 171H within a week or two, again doing a walk in appt to get the 171H.

Anyway, it still looks like we should be DTC sometime in June though I was hoping earlier in June rather than later....

Bummer! Let's hope that it gets done way faster than predicted. I know sometimes people give you an ultra conservative estimate to keep you from bugging them for an answer .

Dont lose all hope! We were told 10 WEEKS before they would issue our 171h and we had it in SIX days!! I think they tell you the worse case scenerio so you wont be calling them constantly!

We are waiting on our 171 also. We were told 8-9 weeks and it has been 5 almost 6. I really don't think that it will be any sooner than 8 weeks for us. Bummer! I wish I could post a "Wow it finally came in the mail!" Maybe next month.

OMG - that is so fast. We are also in NJ and it took 10 weeks to the day. Did you go to Newark? We had ours done in July of 2004. We are considering adoption #2 and would be soooo happy to get such a fast turnaround. Take care!
