Hi everyone!! My wife and I adopted from Phili. Our now just 3 yrs old boy (Carlito) has been with us for 7 mo.
We are planning or considering our second child from China and will like some info about agencies. We have a couple of them in mind but will appreciate any comments of those of you with experience with agencies... and to be politically correct you can e-mail or PM your commens. Thank you, Gilbert.

Oh we wanted to adopt from the Philippines - that was our 1st choice because DH is 1/2 Filipino. But our agency said we would wait at least 2 years to get matched...maybe even up to 30 months? So we changed to China. How did you like the Philippines? Maybe if things speed up we'll try for our 2nd child there.

We did adopt from the Philippines as well for our first child. This was back in 2003. We were supposed to have a wait of 12 months before referrals and we got surprised by a call 5 months after. We were very happy! Our son is soon to be 4 years old and we are now adopting from China. Our LID is 31May2005, so we are in the next batch of referrals!! We just can't wait.

Philippines was a great experience but much more different than China will be (group travel vs traveling alone). Plus this time it is going to be a little girl!

We really like the fact that we'll be with a group too. DH was worried about us going to the Philippines alone. He's more excited to see China - he loves the culture & can't wait to see the sites. You'd think you would want to see where your mom is from...but I guess not
