And the wait gets longer still . . .
Earlier today we (my wife and I -- and not everyone using our agency) were informed by our agency that with a LID of 11/17/05 we should expect to travel in 2007.
That's right, not this calendar year, next calendar year. Additonally, we were informed that the wait time for referrals is expected to get even longer than it is now, and will certainly exceed the 12 month mark. I am sorry to be the bearer of such awful news, but I also want to share what information I feel comforatable sharing, in the most timely fashion possible.

I'm sorry to hear that news.
With the current 10 month wait, plus the wait from referral to travel, you would almost be in January of 2007 so if the wait goes to 11 months, you would almost definately travel in 2007. I know that doesn't really help any.....

Thanks, Adam. I had pretty much already resigned myself to Spring/Summer 2007 travel after all the longer wait talks that have been going on (we have a 11/22 LID). I am now trying to accept it as best as I can, as I know I have no control over it. It is a bummer that we will probably have to re-do the I-171H.

someone with a feb '06 LID (same as mine) just called my agency ( ccai) and was told to expect a 14 month wait or even longer. even though i am not surprised, i am still shocked that ccai is now admitting how long the wait will get -- and horrified that they were talking about my LID.
I keep hearing 12 months, which i think might be true for summer LIDs, but i had a feeling it wouldn't until my LID |

I don't know if I can even think about this. I swear my heart is breaking. 14 mo??!! 14! Ok, breath...maybe this is "worst case"...maybe they just want to prepare us for what MIGHT happen...I think I'll call my agency and see what they have to say (not that I don't believe you Adam3170 - I'm just in total DENIAL!).

I am blue about this! I have had 12 months in my mind for months now, and was hoping for 10 months---now that it is definate 12+ months, I am a little sick!
I wanted my 2 children to be close in age, and this simply sucks! I am thankful to have my dd to keep me company during the wait, and feel doubly sick for parents who are waiting for their 1st child All I can say is: time to pray, and ask God to speed things up, PLEASE?!?!?! Catherine

(coming out of denial very briefly)... I just got off the phone with my placement agency. The word from them? They said "plan on 10 to 14 months". So, right now, it's still sitting right around 10 months. IF the dossiers continue to pile up, and they don't speed up the process for matching (and have more "paper-ready" babies), the wait COULD get to 14 mo.
It's aweful to hear these rumors, and before anyone gets TOO upset, remember, ALWAYS talk to your agency before you stick your head too far in the sand...THAT SAID, I've spoken to mine, and I'm going back into denial... ![]()

I am still going to think 12 months in my head. I really think it might get longer than that for a while, but I think there are some smaller months in there that will help it speed up.
I am just wishing really. But I don't think the agencies really know. When they said 8-10 months 3 months ago they were wrong, so who's to say that 14 isn't wrong too, right? Let's just hope for the best~

Only CCAA really knows what they are going to do. They are very closed lip about things and most agencies try to give guesses and quite often try to be concervative. I know I am having a really hard time with this right now but I keep telling myself not to get to worried until I have seen june and july referrals. CCAA is moving during April so I think April and May could be crazy. And there are is a holiday and trade fair during those two months so I am trying to wait and see what happens when things calm down. Thanks for any new info but I will be in the denial camp for now.

if agencies are saying 12-14+, i'm assuming this is a conservative estimate.
