Ladybug Fate

Question! If seeing a ladybug means that your referral is coming, what does it mean if the dog comes along and eats the ladybug?!!!

I was wondering the same thing. I had three ladybugs on me a few days after we got our LID. I was so excited and was pondering what it could mean.

Then my 15 year old step-son said "great... I have been looking for some ladybugs" then captured them in a container and now they are proudly displayed in his bug collection for school.

I was actually really upset with him and my husband said I was being ridiculous. Oh well, I got over it, but still hope its not bad luck for us.

You guys are hilarious. Only fellow waiting mommies can understand this. Someone looking from the outside is sure to think we've all gone batty I do have to say, I will never, ever look at a ladybug the same way. Every sighting instantly takes me to our daughter in China.

Bring on the ladybug sightings!!!!!!

Dropping in from the Ethiopia board... where we don't have such ideas about ladybugs. But you guys are funny (in a good way of course!)! We just received our referral for an Ethiopian baby, so I totally understand the need for signs and such.

What's funny is that in the Southeast, there's a ladybug epidemic, of sorts. Japanese ladybugs were imported to combat aphids in South Carolina orchards. Unlike American ladybugs, Japanese ladybugs don't die in the winter, but hibernate, and they've been breeding like crazy. So this time of year they are everywhere. If you are looking for ladybugs, think about a trip to upstate South Carolina!

Good luck with your wait!

Kari, I am so sorry for your loss. Grandmas are such a beautiful part of our lives. I miss my Grandmas so much. One passed away 3 yrs. ago and the other last year April 26. Oh do I miss them but I hang on tightly to the precious time God gave me with them. And I am constantly reminding my kids about their amazing great-grandmas. Sending lots of prayers your way!! {{HUGS}}

Ladybugs--I've been jealous at all your ladybug sightings. I've only seen like 2 in the last few weeks. So when I was at home depot I bought ladybugs...like 500 of them hahaha...I've seen more ladybugs than you....lol ...probably doesn't count if you buy them. My kids have had a blast putting them on all of our plants.

Happy Monday everyone!!!!! -stacy
