Application/Homestudy financial and medical questions?

Hello, we are just finishing our application and I am wondering if we need to submit our son's car loan info that we are co-signers for...he has always done well, never a problem and his car is one year from being paid in full...do we need to put this on the application? Do they run credit checks? If we don't put this on the application and it turns up, could that cause problems? Also, our family doctor is trying out blood pressure meds on my dh until he can take some weight off...he is still trying to find the right one...does this need to be listed?
Thank you!

They do not run credit checks, so I do not think you need to list the car loan.
You may have to list the blood pressure, you will need to get all of that information from your Dr in the future.

Your application does not go to China, only to the agency. I would list everything on there and let the agency tell you what should go or stay. This way you will also know what you to discuss with your social worker in regards to what is listed in the homestudy. It also depends on your doctor and how he fills out the medical form. If something is listed on the medical then it must be discussed in the homestudy. Being on pressure medication isnt an automatic rejection. They may just want the doctor to write a note explaining the situation.

reply about medicals and hbp

Hi. I understand exactly what you are going through. I just experienced a situation with the medical because the doctor I went to was not being very co-operative with the whole process. So hopefully your doctor is more understanding of the whole adoption process. He will have to list the situation w/ the blood pressure and detail what is going on with the meds. etc. From what my case manager has told me, and she has adopted 2x from China, they really scrutinize the medicals, so make sure they are accurate. I actually had to have my medicals redone which slowed down my process. The blood tests were done, but then the doctor was playing around and would not sign the medical forms . So we had to wait and have them redone again!!
Right now we have everything done, we are just waiting on our approval from the USCIS. From everything I have been reading on here we did things kinda backwards. We actually started our homestudy before we contracted with the agency, and then we hand delivered our I600A and were fingerprinted that same day. So if anyone can help tell me when I should expect to receive approval, we hand delivered our I600A Jan 30th and were fingerprinted Feb 5th, and our homestudy went to USCIS Feb 14th. I am hoping it will be coming this week. But we also just applied for our passports on Feb 25th, and they said we should not expect to receive them until March 27th, and if thats true that could delay us for DTC. Please pray for us!! We have waited so long, which I know so many have also, so I know we can be encouraged by all of your experiences and stories. Thanks for this forum, it is such a help!!

Co signor of loan, I would not worry about it. I think they pay more attention to your income....if it meets their minimum.

As for your DH's blood pressure, his physician needs to complete a standard form that list everything you could imagine....with either a YES or NO response....with a section on the bottom for the physician to explain further. Im not sure if anyone else had a similar type of Health Report form, but thats what we got from our agency for submission to CCAI.
