What was your favourite movie when you were a kid?

I absolutely loved Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I haven't seen the live musical version yet, but am dying to see it! I got the golden edition when it came out on DVD.

I can't wait until Lydia is old enough to see it!

What were y'alls favourites?

The tomboy in me was a HUGE Star Wars fan, but the girly side of me loved 16 Candles (although I didn't really understand some of the content until I watched it again as an adult). I want to share my favorites with my daughter too... but she may just have to wait for 16 Candles. Maybe we will start with the Little Mermaid!

I loved "Annie" and "E.T." My parents were divorced and I only saw my dad on Sundays so he'd always take me to the movies. I saw tons of movies growing up, even some that were too adult for me because my dad didn't know what else to do with me. I saw "Flashdance" when it came out and I was only 7 or 8.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (the original with Gene Wilder) and The Sound of Music. And I STILL love them both! :-)

I'm w/ Trace a huge Grease fan. I also have always loved Top Gun- though I may not of been that young. I really liked Savannah Smiles- does anyone know that one? It was the first movie that made me cry!

I think I saw Grease 10-15 times the year it came out. I used to spend weekends with my best friend at her dad's to keep her company. We'd beg him to take us to see it and he always gave in. Other favorites - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (the original), Oliver, Blue Lagoon when I was a teen.

The first movie I saw in a theater & it made me read all the books - The Black Stallion. (Even my horse now is balck, but she's a mare, not a stallion)

From 11 years old til present day and probably for the rest of my life, my favorite movie has been Stand By Me. As a little kid I loved Annie, Pollyanna, Mary Poppins and Wizard of Oz.

Marsha,

Oooooh, that's a good one. In junior high I was IN LOVE with River Phoenix. I was very upset when he passed away. I'm hoping his brother Joaquin wins the Oscar this year, just because River never got a chance to (even though he was nominated for "Running on Empty").
