Celebrating Chinese New Year in Atlanta

My wife and I are having a hard time finding any place with a Chinese New Year celebration in the Atlanta area. It's easy enough to find a Chinese resturant, but we thougt it would be fun to do something more. Does anyone know of any Chinese New Year celebrations in the Atlanta area this weekend or next? We live on the west side but are willing to drive.

Kevin

Have you checked around Buford Hwy?...Inside the Perimeter? I'll ask some of my Chinese friends at lunch and get back to you.

Atlanta - Chinese New Year

I have mainly just looked on the internet. Most of the Chinese resturants with websites don't mention any special celebration. Thanks for checking.

Celebrations are at the Chinese community center. It's sort of behind the Chamblee Marta station...sort of in a house. At noon on Sat and Sun they will have the big dragon dance. You need to get there early. There will be tons of food..real chinese food like you never see in a restaurant. I'm going! Sounds like fun to me!

Chinese New Year

That's right next to the Chinatown shopping center. I had found the Chinatown shopping center on the web. Their website has a map and mentions that they are next door to the Chinese community center and the MARTA stations. We are going to try and go tomorrow morning. Thanks for the help.

There's also one at the Curtis Baptist Church Activities Center on Broad Street on 1/28 starting at 6PM.
