What's going on at the CCAA??
We received our referral on Friday, December 9. We returned our acceptance letter on Wednesday, Dec 14. (We were the last in our group of referrals to return the acceptance letter.) Our adoption agency still has not received TAs yet. They told me, maybe next week. Then we still need to get the Visa appointment. What's going on? The wait is killing me, not to mention that our fingerprints expire on March 13. We are wondering if we should start that process now. All I can say is, it has been 5 weeks and still nothing URGH!!!!!
Thanks for letting me vent. Patty |

It might be a good idea to get refingerprinted. This is what we are having to do as well. It sounds like you have a good chance of traveling in Feb. But it also sounds like there is a chance it would be late Feb. and your fingerprints must be valid through your entire trip. Since our SW told us we shouldn't wait until the last minute to start the re-fingerprinting process we are starting it this week just to safeguard ourselves.

Patty;
Contact your agency. Usually they want wiggle room of like a month with the fingerprints. Also can you contact your local BCIS office to get the ball rolling. They'll need time to get your appt (if one must be scheduled) and to get you the required paperwork once you have the prints done. We had to be refingerprinted last time (just the timing from our prints from adoption #1 to adoption #2)... We had to bring with us the "new" I171 which was issued after we were refingerprinted; not just the form we got from the fingerprint office which stated we had been reprinted. It'll take some time for you to get the new I171 so you want to talk with the local office to get the ball rolling (maybe it's different with your local office but that was what we had to do per our agency too!). I hear you on the wait for TA! We received our referral a day before you, but the acceptance letters weren't returned until 12/19 (of course we signed ours right away, but you have to wait for the group as you know!). So we are in the middle of Week 4 of the wait. I really hope to travel around 2/10. Anyone else hear anything good bad or indifferent????
