They had this last year. It was a nice show, but if I remember correctly, it focused more on domestic adoption. It's good though.

That was a lot of singing!
Thanks, Amy, for the tip to watch!
I loved the story about the twin brothers who adopted brothers. I have to say, too, watching the little girls moon over Jesse McCartney was adorable. I was actually a little disappointed that there were so many performances and not as many adoption stories. I really feel that to raise awareness more, people need to be as informed as possible. I am a real sucker for adoption stories and used to love the show on Discovery Health Channel until it turned into the same rerun over and over again. Anyway, I do hope that this show caused some people to consider this special way of becoming a parent. Thanks again for the programming info. Christina |

I didn't tape it, Paul, sorry. I wonder if the CBS network might have it for sale on tape?

The twin brothers that adopted the 2 brothers was my favorite too. What a great way to keep those boys together!

I know, Amy. I was so impressed that those men were serving as mentors--the fact that they then became parents, in addition, was really heartwarming!
The great part about the stories, to me, was that they showed children who were above toddler age. In the foster care system, that is the reality of kids who are available. I know to potential parents, the thought of adopting older children can be scary. These kids all looked so well-adjusted and thrilled to have parents that I hope it reassures those people who were considering an older child adoption to see that it can be a great thing. I'm butting in here from the Russian board -- hope you don't mind!
![]() This show has actually been around for a long time -- back when we were going thru IF treatments (back in 2001-2002), I watched this show both years an it was what got my mind spinning about adoption. I missed the 2003 show, but watched it again in 2004. I missd it again this year. It is a great show to highlight the needs of kids in the US who are in foster care -- and many are older kids, and sibling groups -- some of the hardest to place. However, I was very disappointed with it last year for a reason mentioned above: too much singing. It was more of a showcase for the singers than it was a show for adoption - and that was a major shift from the 2001/2002 shows I watched, to the 2004 show. It became a concert with some adoption stuff thrown in. However, if it gets one family interested in adoption, I give it a thumbs up!
