Notary question
Hi everyone.
My dh and I are trying to wrap up our paperwork, we finished our homestudy yesterday and our sw is concerned about one of the notaries we used because her comission will expire before to long. To be on the safe side we will redo some of the paperwork because of this. When we chose a new notary how long does the date of her 'stamp' needs to be good for? |

I will say, to be on the safe side, that it needs to be good for about 1 and 1/2 year.

Notary
I'm not sure but I believe what matters is the Notary is valid when the Dossier is received by China then if it should expire while waiting for referral it does not matter? I hope this is the case because come to think of it I have at least one or two notaries expiring in March when I'll be waiting for a referral. Can anybody elaborate more on this?

Our agency said that all of the documents you gather should be notarized with a valid notary with a commission date that will not expire before the document is authenticated by the Chinese Consulate.
Our agency highly recommends that you use a notary that has a valid commission date several months or years past your anticipated registration date.

Our agency and sw said 18 months from the date notorized. Also the seal is okay but they need the stamp on them with everything filled out. Check and recheck these, we had to redue a few of ours because it wasn't done right.

I just made sure our notaries expired in a few years just to be safe - I think most or all of our notaries expire in 2010!!

I just asked our agency about this. They said they have never had paperwork sent back for the notary expiring. They said as long as our paperwork has been logged into China we are fine. They said Russia and a few other countries are very picky and sometimes that carries over for SW who deal with many countries.
