How long for Court Approval?
My Home Study went for court approval on October 18th. Anyone have any guessimates on how long we can expect it to take? Our agency is saying 4-8weeks. We live in Phoenix, AZ (Maricopa County).

Phoenix Court Approval

And I'm confused since our homestudy didn't have to go to a court for approval. It went straight from the Social Worker to BCIS.

My SW did specifically say it went to the court for approval & we were sent a court case #. This may vary from state to state. Summermommy what state are you in?

You know, I really wish the various agencies wouldn't make people do stuff that China doesn't specifically require. The Directors of all of the agencies should have a big pow-wow some weekend in Vegas and compare notes and streamline their processes so everyone jumps through the same hoops. Wouldn't that be nice?

I agree. I have noticed that many agencies make you jump through additional hoops,like we don't have enough to do already. It would be much easier it they all did the same thing. But I think some of the rules may be state by state rather than agency by agency.

Oh and by the way, when your doc's are ready to go to the consulate in LA, I have an awsome courier for you to use if you like. I messed up and even sent all of my doc's from other states to LA (I don't know what I was thinking) and she paid all of my fee to the Consulate (because my check was wrong) out of her own pocket. Sent my additional doc's to the correct state and paid for them to be authenticicated herself. She even sent my check back to me and just trusted that I would pay her. When I thanked her for this I asked why she would trust me, she said because you are an adoptive mom and we gotta stick together.
