China Adoption DVD

This DVD was highly recommended to me at 1 of our adoption classes. I received it Monday & watched it that night. Its extremely good! I cried the whole time. I think it'll be a great tool to use when talking to our girls about how & why they were adopted. It interviews adopted girls from China, who are around 8 now. They share how they feel about their adoption.

This is an awesome dvd. I bought it last year and have watched it several times. It is a great way for people to learn about where and why you adopting from China.

We just received the DVD in the mail today. I too have heard that it is invaluable in helping adopting parents and family and friends to understand more about China and the plight of its lost daughters. I can't wait to watch it later tonite.

I really like that they show what cities & hotels we'll be going to too. The best part is when the adoptive families are waiting in that room for the babies to arrive...how exciting! What an amazing experience this will be

I will definately be showing this DVD to my friends & family

There's also the documentary "Made in China" by Karin Lee.

"Made in China" looks at a handful of the 8,000 babies adopted from China by Canadian families since 1989. "Made in China" is a moving portrait of several remarkable children and their adoptive families whose stories are powerful, sad, humorous, and inspirational. The children, age 5-13, explain how they deal with issues of race, racism, biological identity and whether they will return to China to search for their roots. Their stories reflect their inner conflicts and how they have come to terms with their hybrid identities.

My wife and I also watched the DVD -- "China's Lost Girls". It was FANTASTIC. It really made the whole process seem more real.

Seeing the gotcha day was fantastic. It was also great to see that the "foster" parents cared so much about the babies that where in their care.

Talking

I got this DVD about a month ago and have shared it with friends and friends. I even brought it into work last Friday and all us women watched it over lunch with a big box of tissues!

I still have to show it to everyone...even DH. He's been working at the MN Fair for work, so he hasn't been home. I can't wait for him to see it! I'll see my parents tomorrow & I'm going to bring it with me.

Hey there!
I totally agree with you! This is a great dvd and I cried too! It's so touching and exciting. We are in the referral stage right now and I am so excited to be one of those parents in the waiting room to receive our daughter!
