DIY nursery ideas
I was wondering if anyone makes their own nursery decor. I love the hanging letters but they are $20 a piece for the ones that I like. I am trying to find a place to buy the letters to paint myself or the instructions on how to make them ourselves. They look so simple but I don't know where to begin. Any websites or ideas would be great!

Have you seen the letters at Walmart? They are white, but made so that they can be painted or decoupaged if you want them to match something special. They are all capital letters as far as I know, and about 6-7 inches tall. They are only $2.44! The brand is Baby Connection. I got them for our daughter. :-) Hope this helps.

Also look in the craft sections of stores for the unfinished wood letters. Many times they're even cheaper. You need to sand them a little, then you can paint or decoupage 'em. Glue or staple ribbon to the backs and you have the same look.
I plan to do the same thing for our nursery after babe is home.

I used the plain wooden letters and painted them. I also put a coat of polyurethane on them to give them a little shine. I got ours at Target for about $2-$3 each. I have also seen them in craft stores.

Hobby Lobby, Michaels and other craft stores sell them for a very low price. You can also find them at Target and Wal-Mart.

I also saw the letters at a fabric store. I plan on putting a little batting/stuffing on them and wrapping them with fabric. Who knows how it will turn out but I'm gonna give it a try! Isn't it great to be in the actual "nesting" phase!!!!! So happy.
