I600A question

Hi,

I am filling out our I600A form for China but we have not chosen our agency yet. I know how long it takes to get this form processed and I want to get a head start.

Is it a problem to leave the agency section blank on this form? Also, what do you put for when you intend to depart etc? Surely no-one knows this info when they fill out this form?

Hope you can help me out

Best
MustangLippy

I am assumimg that all I-600A forms are the same. In #13A. I put "unknown"
#13B. I put "unknown"
#13C. I put "China"

I don't know about he agency part.

OUr agency gave us a sample form that had already been filled out. It really might help to settle on an agency before you proceed.

Hope that helped

Hi MustangLippy,
I recognize you from the Russia boards! We finally swiched over to China, too.

The turn around time for the 1-600A is just a couple of weeks. I wouldn't stress about getting it done ASAP. If you are still deciding on an agency, we are extremely happy with ours. Feel free to PM and I will give you the name.

Best wishes!
Beth Anne

Bam, I wish we lived in your district. Turn around time for the I600A is 4-5 months where I am.

Birth Certificates (long form)

WOW--that is hard to believe! Were you given an explanation? The one thing that caught us by surprise was the turn around time for birth certificates (long form). We were told two weeks but it was closer to six--yikes ! However, if we submitted the applications in person, we would have them in about one week. So guess what we did? We now have an extra set of birth certificates .

Thumbs up Agency Info on I-600A

We just got our agency's forms packet today and I just completed our I-600A. Here's what they list for the I-600A form responses:

#11 - Yes
#12 - Answer "Yes" if appropriate - We advise both parents to travel
#13 - Answer "unknown" for a and b. For c, answer __________, Peoples' Republic of China
#14 - Answer "No" if both parents will travel. Answer "Yes" if only one parent will travel.
#15 Answer "Yes"
#16 - Guangzhou China, Peoples' Republic of China
#17 - Answer "No." It is difficult to get more than one referral.
