Unhappy Memphis TN. USCIS

This is terrible ! If you are using the Memphis office for your finger prints, they are just now processing the filings from March 14th. It will be 4-5 months to get clearance after doing your prints.

If you want to see how long the processing time is for the office you will be using, go to the USCIS.gov Then look under case status &processing dates I am so upset . I never expected it to take almost 5 months !

Is this for after your fingerprints are taken? I have to use the Memphis center. My social worker said that they were only taking about 2 months right now. Maybe it will speed up. I am hoping to get my fingerprints in the next two weeks through Nashville and then I guess I will be on the long wait for the information from Memphis too.

Yes, this is for after your finger prints have been taken. Our SW told us 4 months. I like what your SW said much better though.

I'm a lurker from the Ethiopia adoption forum but live in TN. We are in process trying to get USCIS approval too. From my other sorces, the website is way off. Averages after fingerprinting are 7-9 weeks with some 6 nad some 10 in there. We go thurs for fingerprinting in Nashville.

Adoption fingerprinting is expedited. So don't go by the figures on line. I have my fingerprinting done in early November and called about them in early December to check on them. They wouldn't give me any info only to say that they were working on forms submitted in early October. I was devastated - but then I recieved my document the VERY NEXT DAY! Don't believe what you read on those government sites as they don't apply to adoptions.
