Anyone in Tampa Bay Area?

We are just starting the process of adopting from China but I'd love to hear from people in the Tampa Bay area. If you want to PM me any suggestions for agencies, etc. I would really appreciate it.

I'm hispanic and my husband is caucasian. I'm very interested in learning Chinese and maybe taking classes on China's culture but my first efforts to find something on the internet have failed. While I know I can buy books (and I bought several already), I'm hoping to develop a network here because we don't know a lot of people.

Elaine

Hi Elaine!

I'm not in Florida but your post caught my eye because we have ethnicity in common...I'm Hispanic and my husband is Caucasian. My mother is Colombian and my father is from Spain. Are you Cuban? Sorry if I'm generalizing since you're from Florida.

We're starting the process next month for China. We're so excited! I'm starting to learn some Mandarin/Pinyin, too, with the help of a book.

Welcome to the board!

No, I'm not Cuban. I was born in Costa Rica. My mom is Costa Rican and dad is from Ohio.

Have you selected an agency?

Hi! Yes, I've selected an agency. I'm actually typing some things up now in preparation for my homestudy (like a fire evacuation plan and emergency numbers to post on our fridge).

I'll PM you the name of my agency.
