DTC to LID timeframe

What is the timeframe of the DTC to LID. I thought it was about 2 weeks, but then I was told that it could be upto 4 weeks. My DTC is 3/17/05 and I haven't officially received my LID date.

Thanks,

Patty

Hi! Mine was exactly 1 week. Our DTC date was 11/12/2004 and our LID was 11/19/2004. I can't remember though how long it took us to get our LID.
Hope in PA

Cool Varying time frames

Isn't the waiting pure hell?! I thought perhaps I would never receive word of my LID. In fact, it is true, some agencies never provide or share that. I use HOLT and had to phone them to receive it. I was DTC 2/25 and LID 3/17. I've read the time on forums as quick as 3 days and as long as 6 weeks or more. I think it depends on how your agency handles your dossier. Our agency had their employees in China translate - I would assume an agency that translates dossiers in the U.S. get their customers a faster DTC to LID time. But the reality is, you're 'supposed to' think 6 to 7 months from DTC anyway. I'm not sure if that helps or not.

LID delay

How long it takes to go from DTC from LID is completely dependant upon your agencies procedures. My agency sends dossiers to China THEN translates THEN they are logged in. I have a friend whose agency translates THEN sends to China THEN is logged in...so her LID is much closer to her DTC than mine is. (My agency took two weeks to translate.) I was DTC on Jan 7th and LID on Jan 27th. (However, due to a late month LID I will likely be lumped with the February referrals--bummer.)
Another thing about LID. My friend's agency will not give her an official LID. They have told her no one gets an official LID and all these times are approximated. My agency told me the exact opposite and I would have an official LID. They have since sent me a certificate to that end. I didn't have that certificate or a date until well into Febrary however...and was told to get that official LID I might have to wait as long as 8 weeks for all the paperwork to clear etc. (what that means I have no idea...and I was very happily surprided to have my official LID 3 weeks later.)

Our DTC date is Feb. 10th and our LID date is.... Yea that's right. We still don't know. From our info gathering you will find out when China decides to tell you. We have heard one couple waited for 4 months.

Good luck
Jason

Ditto here.

We were 3/14 DTC but our dossier is translated in China. There are only four families in my group (including us) and we are keeping our fingers crossed that we are a March family. They told me maybe 2 weeks for translating. I *hear* the cut off date is the 25th. Their employee hand delivers to CCAA. Another family from my agency just had their dossier sent and they were told it would be about a month before LID. Who knows...I'm counting on being LID in April that way if I just happen to get a referral in September I'll be excited and October will be just on track for me.

Best wishes

Susan

LIDs

It really seems as if LIDs are getting later overall - does that seem right to everyone or do LIDs go up and down continuously?

Thanks,

Marlene

I know that my actual LID date was later than predicted...I've heard a RUMOUR---that there are record highs of people adopting from China. (I blame Sex in the City--ha ha) Because of the sheer number it's taking longer to process. But hey, I know some people who adopted 5 years ago--and it took them 15 months from LID to referral. We still are doing pretty good...so no complaints.
