How long after LID do our files head to the Matching Room?
How long is it after our LID do our files head to the Matching Room. Do they match you right away but you don't hear about your referal for several months. Or by the time you get your referal had it been only a couple weeks that you were in the matching room. I saw someone online who was DTC in mid December and as of Mid January, they were receiving info about their referal which they said still won't come for five months. I found this very confussing. anyone know how the process works and what the time line is? Thanks for your help- Amie

I was told by my agency that the once you get your LID you go to Phase 1, that's where they translate all of your paper work into Chinese. This could take around 4 months, then they go to the Phase 2 matching room. Right now referrals are coming in at 5-6 months from LID so phase 1 could be going faster now. Please note that referral times can change. If you are getting a special needs child, your dossier will be expedited, that's probubly the case with the person you heard about. I met a women today at my neighborhood park who selected a special needs child before she sent in her dossier. She sent the dossier in with her acceptance letter for the child.

Typically, your dossier will in the Document reviewing area (phase one) for 5 months and the matching area for about one months. That's based on the current projection of 6 month wait time.
We're DTC Oct and hoping for an April referral. Let's hope those wait times stay at 6 months!! janine |

I suppose agencies do things differently. We had are dossier translated before it was sent to China. I wonder if this would cut down on our refferal time. Anyway, our translated dossier had a DTC of 3/17/05. It was a Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!

I just e-mailed my agency and asked if I got my dossier translated before it went to China if this would speed up the phase 1 process. I would post as soon as I get the answer.

Thanks so much for your responses. I will have to find out if it is a special needs adoption. My understanding is that it is not. It will be interesting to find out if it is translated here if that speeds up referral time. I know their Dossier was translated before it was sent. I am sure there are many families who would like to know that information. Interesting stuff...
