Hi everyone,

We received our 171-H approval yesterday!!! All our documents have been certified (including the 171-H), but our agency sends them to the consulates for us (NY consulate and LA consulate). Any ideas how long to DTC now?

Hi Marlene,
I believe it took us about 10 days to get ours back from NY. Then it was sent to the agency and we were DTC that Friday. I wish I could remember the timeframe for sure but I can't. I would say around 2 weeks though...not sure how long the LA consulate would take.

Hi Marlene,
I just checked. We sent our I797C (PA's equivalent to the 171) to the NY consulate on 10/22 and rec'd it back on 11/8 so it was 17 days. We were DTC on 11/12 and LID on 11/19.

Marlene~ It depends on whether they do a rush service on the authentication. It depends on whether they do the translation before the dossier goes out. It also depends on how often they send dossiers to China.

For me~
*I received my 171H on 2/16/05
*I received it from being certified on 2/19/05
*I received it from being authenticated on 2/25/05
*I mailed my 171H to my agency on 2/25/05
*They received it from me on 2/28/05
*They mailed my dossier to China on 3/3/05
*CCAA received my dossier on 3/9/05

*** I did the certification and authentication myself.

Thanks all...it looks like we will be DTC April 15th according to our agency. Our hold up is that the NY consulate is taking about 3 wks now (and seems right according to your posts), or else we probably could have been DTC by the 1st. Oh well, April is very good since we started at the end of January with our agency application!
