Can anyone help me, please! I am a female adoptee searching for my birthmother/ birthparents. I was born 5-26-1964 in Washington DC but adopted from the Children’s Home Society in Greensboro, North Carolina. My adoption was finalized in Guilford County, NC. I have learned that my birthmother was most likely from NC (possibly from Burlington) but went to DC to have the baby. I have my non-id. info from CHS.



I am planning a trip to North Carolina next month. I need search tips/ suggestions/ etc.



I might meet with CHS in Greensboro. Has anyone done that and had success getting more information out of them?



Did NC print “legal notices” regarding adoptions in 1964? If so, what publications were used and where can I find them archived?



What specific things/ documents could I look for at the courthouse? What do I ask for?



Any other places I should look, travel to?



Anyone, please help me. I have hit a brick wall and need help. I have been searching for years.
