Melissa,

Did you place your son through an adoption agency? If so, I would contact them and let them know you are interested in finding your birthson. Some agencies will contact the adoptee (unless he is a minor - it really depends on the state and agency) and ask them if they are interested in recieving contact information or even letters, calls etc. from the birthmom. It truly depends on the agency, so give them a call & see what kinds of policies they adhere to and if they can do anything for you.

I did a Google search for "Florida Adoption Laws." Here are some links & info. that might be useful...

Florida Adoption Reunion Registry
Florida Department of Children and Families
1317 Winewood Blvd.
Tallahassee, FL 32399-0700
(850) 488-8000 or (800) 962-3678
Registration by written request only.
Adoptee must supply current driver license and amended birth certificate.

http://www.geocities.com/capitolhill...s/florida.html - this site has all kinds of information! I recommend it.

http://laws.adoption.com/statutes/florida-laws.html - also a great site.

I would strongly suggest registering with the FL state registry...that's a great resource for birthmoms and adoptees.

Here's another link to a reunion registry in FL - http://adoptflorida.com/Reunion-Registry.htm.

Good luck
