CHS of NJ
I was adopted from CHS in Trenton, NJ in 1978. Two years ago I called to get some non-identifying information and was offered the option of paying $450 for a search. I thought this was ridiculous since the agency has the information, so I did not take that option. I inquired about the mutual consent-release of records option and they said I could go on file as giving my consent. Last year I called to inquire if there had been any contact from bio. family and I never got a reply (I left several messages). Is there information that I am freely entitled to? All I know so far is in a letter from the social working in 1979 (Emilie Kaye) that lists birth parents siblings, education levels, heights, body build etc. Any suggestions?
