I was approached by a woman calling herself Sandria in Riverside County CA about adopting her child. She told me she had been matched via an attorney with a family who backed out on her. I could never verify that story. She wanted rent and "grocery money" of more than $200 a week. My husband and I agreed to consider her situation, and then the demands for more support started. When we did not respond to her she threatened to find someone who would... Finally, we asked for some report on how the baby due in June was doing, she said she had missed her last appointment. When I said no more support until she saw the doctor, she said she'd find someone else to help her and hung up on me. We did not invest much in this situation, and wanted to warn others. She may just be a very needy person, but then she may be looking for the highest amount of money she can get. Such as shame!
