Compromise for medical info (MO)

Just thought my case might help others in MO. I have been searching for years for info about my medical history in MO. After going through every channel including a lawyer and a helpful friend who is also a judge I found a way into my records.
I asked for help from the court where my adoption took place and from the Good Shepherd office that holds my file and with a notorized letter of permission from my parents (adoptive) and $375 the people at Good Shepherd will search for and if found ask for updated medical information. I am 40 so it was very strange that I would need permission from my parents to do this, but its another strange MO policy. The people at Good Shepherd have 90 days to do the search and to make contact so hopefully I can get the medical background I would like.
I don't have any desire to meet with any member of my biologic family so this compromise works well for me, and according to Tom Fellin over at Good Shep, his people have a very good success rate at getting this type of information. Plus it works for me that they will quietly make contact, if possible, and get the info for me. While this might not work for others, it works well for my situation. If they can't find anyone then it just might not be possible to find anyone that is alive anyway, so it will work on two fronts by giving me either medical info and to finally put to rest whether it is even possible to find anyone left that is in the know. Will update to let you know if I actually get any info out of it.

Wow, what a great compromise...I think it will help many adoptees who want this info but are afraid of hurting either or both parents or are truly happy with their life as it is and still get vital information.

Thanks for this and please let us know how you go.

Kind regards,
Dickons
