Posting Information
Welcome to the Search and Reunion Message Board!
You might also want to post on the SEARCH AND REUNION BY YEAR (of birth)and SEARCH AND REUNION BY STATE message boards for the best exposure for your search information. For ease in others reading these many messages it would help to post as a “new thread” and to include the following information in the subject line PLUS in the content of the message: gender of adopted person date of birth city of birth state of birth For example: male 01/01/1960 Chicago Illinois Other people reading the message board will be more likely to identify with this basic information and will be more likely to read your complete message and contact you if there is a match. searching for 1/2 sister dob 5-25-48
My mom gave up her only daughter for adoption through Catholic Charities in Newark, NJ in 1948. All I know about her is that she was born in a hospital in Hoboken, NJ and adopted through Catholic Charities in Newark. My mom always wanted to find her, but was unaware how to go about doing so. She passed away six years ago never finding her. My two brothers and I would love to find her, especially since we never had a sister and also to welcome her into the family. My mother left some sentimental remembrances which we would like to pass on to her. I don't know if she ever tried to contact my mom because all records are sealed and we couldn't get any info from the people at the Catholic Charities a few years ago. My mother's maiden name was Marion Albretson and lived on Boylan Street in Newark, NJ when she gave birth. I don't know any other info which might have been on the birth certificate. I don't think the father was named, and I don't know his name either. My mother's age at the time of birth was 20, and it's possible she named the baby Mary Ann. But this is uncertain. Any info that I could obtain would be greatly appreciated. If anyone reads this and knows of her, please contact me.
Thank you, Bill McVicar |
