I, too, was told that the storage facility in New Jersey that housed all records from Catholic Charities burnt down. I am ISO my birthmother and have not been able to get ANY information at all. I was born in 1969. This really makes it extremely difficult for us to do a search.

In Wisconsin, the State takes all adoption records and they are housed in one location in Madison, WI. As requests for Non-Id info come in the State forwards the files to the agency that handled the adoptions.

This is a long shot - we are in search of birthparents for a male named Phillip born June 7, 1964 in New York City. The adoption was handled through Childrens Aid Society - which later became Catholic Charities.

My husbands adoption was also handled by catholic charity, and when trying to find info on his birthparents,i was told they had a fire all was destroyed.this supposed fire took place in bellingham wa. what year they werent sure. my husbands DOB is also 1967. jan 1st .coincidence? was yours a sealed adoption.
