I have a question and hopefully someone will have a answer for me. It could mean a lot in the search for my missing parents that I am searching for.
IF a child is placed by a parent for adoption with Catholic Services, can Catholic Services decide to place child through another adoptive Services, such as A Jewish adoptive services without the parents approval. OR another part of the question? if it would end up being a relative adopting, do they get a first choice ...such as the relative would be using a different service then the birth parents.
Issue Example, This is a known fact, A young male was placed with Catholic Services for adoption, A Jewish family went through an adoption jewish agency and got this young male.

The reason for this question is because this could help a birthfather maybe decide which way to continue his search. His son was believed to be placed with a Catholic Service, yet it is a possiblity we located him, and we think it may have been kept within the family...distance relation..and maybe they where able to over ride it because of being relation...

Unless this kind of thing happens alot. Please Someone get back with me. This is so important to this adoptee and the birthfather to know if it is possible that they are related...Once again this adoptee does know he started with Catholic Service adopting agency and ended with a Jewsih adoptive agency

Hi.

I'm a birthmom who place my son with CC and CC turned my son over to the county.I contacted CC and they pulled my file and that's when they told me that he was turned to county.So i would suggest that you contact CC for file to see. Also check the laws on adoption in your state.

the other part that I forgot to mention was it was also the Catholic Service in Kansas and the Jewish Service in Florida. I might be mistaken but I this It was the HElEN Tanos something or other.

Hi! My parents story to me is, they went to Catholic Chairities one day. While they were sitting at a desk w/ a woman, she made a call and there was a child for them. (pregnant mom) I believe somehow at that point it may have been turned over to Dept. of Social Services. My adoption Decree also states Albany County of Social Services. My adoption was private. I think the lawyer I had was a lawyer for the Social Services at the time w/ his own office.
