He says I'll call you when and if I find out something. Lady's and Gent's this is really wearing me out..As I know all of you have been through this, how do you get through it all. Reading the books makes me cry even more..I can't give up because what if he needs me (my son). Sorry I really need to vent somehow.I cry myself to sleep anymore.Well by for now. Maybe I will post again soon. Can someone offer their advise. Thanks Jswing |

How did you know which parish your sons aparents were members of? Priests change every 4-5 years in most parishes.. sometimes longer depending on the Bishop.
If they seem to be local, where you are, cant you put a generic ad in the newpaper? and ask then to write to a po box or something? Or take out a classified in your Diocesan paper. the family or someone who knows them might reply. Parishes keep good records.. excellent I might add.. It was common for CC to baptise the baby at a local parish or the diocese before the adoption.. so the baby is never re-baptised but issued a baptismal certificate with the adopee's changed name. Florida has sealed records I am sure just like Illinois.. I had my birthmothers name all along.. my aparents gave it to me. My search has just begun. I think the hardest thing for everyone is getting a name.. I cant help you from that aspect, Im sorry.. Good Luck in your search ![]() Yvonne Looking for ** Irena Niewiadomski/Stankiewicz |

Hi Yvonne
How I know about the parish of my son's adoptive parents, is because, it's in the homestudy. And I also talk to the priest of the parish he has been there he claims 20 yrs. Unless he lies too... jswing |

Home Study
Chinny07
A home study, is when the adoption agency or in this case Catholic Charities, sends a social worker or workers out to the adoptive parents and family to do a interview of their home and talk about their feelings about adoption and make sure that their home is the right place to bring the adoptee child into. They also look at their financial and employment situation. I hope this answers your question. jswing |

Its highly unlikely that a priest is going to be at a parish for 20 years.. unless it is run by a religious order as a mission rather than being a part of the Diocese. But that is highly unlikely unless it is in a remote location. Priests simply do not stay at a parish for 20 years,USCCB Directives dont allow for that.. What do you mean by homestudy? Or do you mean your non-id information that you rec'd from CC?? If I may, what Diocese is this in? Another fyi.. the priest can not give you information from parish records if it is not yours. The records are sent to the Diocese offices and arent accessible without id proving you are seeking your own records. Genealogy wise, anything after 75 years is open without ID. As far as getting a name-- dont bet on it.. But what you may try to do is contact the priest and ask if the parish may foward a letter to his adoptive parents or to him for you. It's a longshot but perhaps worth a try.. Yvonne

Home Study
Yvonne
I have seven pages in my non-id paperwork from CC that says HOME STUDY INTERVIEW... As far as the priest, he told me on January 4,2005 that he had been at the church since 1978. And I know he is in a position where he can't tell me anything. I was told to call him. by a so called search specialist.I feel everyone has a right to their own opinion. jswing |

Janet..
At least contact him again and ask if he would forward a letter from you. This is something that he could do with ease. He isnt revealing anything to you about them and he wouldnt be liable.. I would actually write the letter, put it in a sealed envelope with a stamp on it with your return address. Write the priest or go in to the rectory and ask for him to forward it.. No one even has to know who addressed the envelope.. Like I said, its worth a shot.. I dont see why he would turn you down on that one.. Yvonne
