My Two Cents Tuesday Topic

Is there one thing that would make you change your mind about adopting?

I really cannot think of one. I cannot imagine my life without my girls (actually I can - it was sad, lonely and boring). My girls are so much like me it is sometimes frightening. I know that God brought us together. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed, burnt out and just want Calgon to take me away. But only for a day or two, and then I am back on track.

We are about to begin the foster to adopt process and I often wonder how I will deal with the possibility of reunification. I am committd to moving forward in theory, but once a baby is in my life I know it will be very hard to be a foster parent.

It would be a bit late for me if I did! But seriously, no. Since our two adoptions and current foster to adopt placement all came to us as older chiuldren (5,9 & 4 at placement) it has not been an easy road. With both the girls I have had moments of doubt as to whether or not we should proceed, but I have prayed about it, and each time got definate answers that we were following God's will.
