Kokomo Catholic Charities
I am looking for my daughter that I put up for adoption April 5, 1986. She was born in Kokomo, Indiana. She weighed 6 lbs. 5 oz. She was born at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo, Indiana. Catholic Charities has since moved out of Kokomo. I have been looking for several years with no luck. I have heard that Catholic Charities will sometimes change birth records to protect the children, and while I understand the reasons for this it does make it very difficult for reunions. If you were born around this date please email me.

I know it has been a long time since you posted this, although I thought I would answer just incase you come back or someone else might be able to use the answer.
St. Elizabeth Coleman in Indianapolis is not the "main" Catholic Charities in Indiana, if you google it you can get their address and phone number. They do search and reunion services. They do cost a fee that covers the cost of the worker that does the search and reunions. My brother and I, he is the 60's and myself in the 70's were both adopted through Catholic Charities. Neither of our birth information was changed and the non-id information that our parents received was EXACTLY correct according to our birthmothers, we have both found them. A lot of things have changed between the 70's and 80's although I would be shocked to find out that they changed birth information in the 80's. They were one of the first agencies to work with open adoptions in the 80's. Hope this helps!!! |

I have the name of the lady that does the searches at St. Elizabeths. She is pretty good at getting back to you, I have her email at work, but I am on vacation until July 6th. If you want it let me know and I will send it to you.

Hi- I used to live in Indianapolis area some years back and I facilitated an adoption triad support group in that area. I know persons who helped with adoption searches, so feel free to PM me a message and hopefully I can put you in touch with persons who can encourage me. Blessings, Jody
