I was adopted in Indiana through Catholic Charities. Could have been born in Ohio. Adoptive parents were told that my birthmother was 16 at my birth and I should be very talented with my hands because my Grandfather was.

Why do you think you could have been born in Ohio? I am seaching for bbrother that was born in Buffalo,NY most likely through Catholic Charities and around your BD

Back in 89 my A-Mom mentioned something about Ohio when speaking with my wife about my adoption but my wife can't remember exactly what was said. Back in 67 it was not unusual to adopt out of state. I haven't found out any info on my B-parents. Good luck on your search.

How do check amended names in a state?

I have the supplemental birth index and I checked for your name and its not there so its a good guess you were NOT born in OH.
Did you ever see your amended birth certificate? It will have state of birth on it.
