Life is already difficult
Today, as we already know life is difficult. It has changed so much since I was growing up that's for sure. I think it was almost automatic that we went to church, believed in God and prayed daily.
Today's society is very different, at least in my opinion. How are you, or going to be, teaching your children to rely on God and his word? |

I agree. Example is the only way they will know that I really believe what I say I do, and that it is important to me.

I hope it's not too late to reply to this thread. I agree with the others that example is important, but we have an additional challenge in our house. Our son, adopted at age 6, was being raised Buddhist. That's quite the leap to Catholicism! He goes to CCD classes and made his First Communion and Reconciliation last year (2nd grade). Then we moved to NM and here, they make their First Communion in the 3rd grade. Because of his backround, I told the director that he can repeat the class because it would be excellent review. The director had wanted to put him in the 4th grade class. It turns out that he's learning quite a bit more than he did last year anyway. When my son first came home, he occasionally prayed to Buddha - usually praying for toys! LOL We talk about Jesus at home, and about His mother. I sent away for a "Our Lady of China" holy card for him and explained to him who it was. He kept it on his night stand before we moved and it got packed. We've been here only 2 1/2 months.
