Adoption Ceremony

We are planning our adoption ceremony. We would like to make it a very special day, do any of you have some ideas that you have experienced at adoptions? We would like to honor the S.worker and CASA too. Any ideas???? Thanks

ceremony ideas

Kathyl
we just did the adoption day ceremony and it turned out to be the BEST day of our lives. We contacted a LIMO company and got a full 16 passanger limo DONATED to drive our family to the court house--big white full service with tuxed driver and the whole bit... very impressive.... then we went to tuxedo junction and got them to DONATE a tux for our 11 year old TOP HAT WAS THROWN IN BECAUSE HE IS SOOOOO CUTE.... we were driven to the court house and we had people waiting on the front steps with video cameras to capture our MOMENT!!!!!
We invited every caseworker that was invovled in our case which was a lot because it took 6 years to finalize our adoption (numerous errors and umbeliveable delays) we had a FULL COURT ROOM and when that judge actually picked up the pen to sign our adoption papers... EVERYONE CRIED....even the balif--he ended up handing out kleenex... IT WAS AMAZING...
we invited out workers out to dinner after the ceremony and paid for their dinner. They were thrilled (i think there is some underlying rule about them NOT accepting gifts but dinner seems like appropriate thing to do).
The following weekend we rented out the skating center for "OUR NEW SON" and invited all his friends and teachers to come roller skate with him to celebrate-we had everyone bring a dish and it turned out to be a great party.
MAKE SURE YOU TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING because the day is one UNLIKE any other. Its as good as giving birth.
I have a photo album that would knock your socks off...
GOOD LUCK and enjoy your day... just dont forget to try to get DONATIONS from people like limo companys or Tuxedo junction... FREE IS ALWAYS BETTER
