Question
Hello,
I was wondering if Case works ever need people to do Volunteer work? If so how does a person find out how to Volunteer . I'm planning to adopt in time and I think somthing like that would be wonderful experance for me. So I thought id ask. Thanks

What state do you live in? My suggestion is to contact your local branch/office by phone and find out who coordinates this.
FYI, you may find volunteering to be kind of a pain - you will have to be background checked and finger printed and go through confidentiality/ethics trainings and etc. Lots of families' lives will pass through your hands and there are lots of laws about confidentiality. Good luck, though! |

I, live, in, Missouri, and DFS here does use volunteers some. Most recently a friend's newborn foster baby went into the hospital with meningitis (sp?) and volunteers stayed with him during the day while she was at work. The hospital had a policy about someone being at the hospital with the baby at all times. The volunteers just fed and held the baby- kept an eye on him.
