We just started!! We are going to adopt through Haiti!
Well, We have just started the process for our third son. We have decided to go through Haiti! We are very nervous about the long process, but we are so excited about having another son.
My name is Nicole. My husband is Jared. We have two children. Owen is 4 and was adopted from South Africa. Abram is 3 and was adopted from Ethiopia! I hope to learn a lot from this group! |

Welcome! Were is your son in Haiti? What Orphanage? How old is he? We just brought our daughter home at the begining of Feb. She is just the light of my life. I cannot wait to hear more about you.
The timeline is about 1 year right now. It seems to be moving faster. Please feel free to ask any questions. Heidi

Congratulations!
How very exciting for you! I would love to hear more details. We are still a few months from bringing our son home (we think.)
We started the process 1 year and five months ago. I would say anywhere from a year to 18 months is typical right now. Things do seem to be speeding up, but (unfortunately) you can never be certain with the Haitian process! (as I am sure you know from your prior adoption experiences in South Africa and Ethiopia.) Still, I love Haiti. We actually hope to move there in the somewhat distant future, (probably within 5 years) as we are very involved with a residency orphanage that is expanding and needs more families to help run it. Let us know if you have any questions or if you just need to gripe! Best of luck and keep us posted.
