Lets see... I can't remember the timeline right away for the first one (came home in July 2004) but here is the timeline for the second adoption:

1st Referral November 2004 (baby K, our litle girls baby sister)
Paperwork to Haiti: beginning of March 2005
1st Legal sometime in March 2005
Into IBESR: March 31st 2005
April 2005 baby K passes away in a Port-au-Prince hospital at 6 months old. :-(

May 2005 referral of F, 3 months old.
June 2005 new paperwork in Haiti
1st Legalization in June 2005
back in IBESR (social services) July 2005
IBESR approval October 2005
2nd Legalization November 2005
Passport Recieved December 13, 2005
INS appointment December 19, 2005
Birthmother forgot her ID card - ~sigh~
ID card taken in later that week.
Visa appointment set and then cancelled because of a mising paper.
Visa appointment rescheduled for December 30! Approval! Woo hoo!
Leave for Haiti December 30th (afternoon) pick him up on December 31st at 10 months old.

Whew!
Hope that helps!

Salem--

So you were in IBESR for 4-5 months? (I am hearing anywhere from 4-7 lately...)

We've been in since the end of May-- we're hoping for a quick turnaround and have heard that our orphanage has been getting through IBESR quickly lately, so here's to hoping!

Our hope is to have him home by the time he turns two on Nov 18th...

Crossing our fingers!

Hi, yup thats about right. His entire process took about 7 months, so not bad at all. We said we wanted him home by his 1st birthday, and he was! Home at 10 months. :-)

AND I have to have a brief moment to brag about my beautiful baby sister K, who started swimming lessons last week. She did so well they have already moved her (and her best friend, who is adopted from China) up to the next level! She's so proud of herself. They are the smallest kids in their class but are such little fish and are so brave. We knew she would be a good swimmer even before we came home from Haiti, even as a baby she would try to swim away from us in the pool. LOL. She absolutely loves it and has no fear. We're so proud of her! :-D

We are visiting Haiti in August!

Can't wait to hear what your trip was like...

What orphanage is your daughter in?

She is in the Hospital right now but is doing better. She should be out this week, then she will return to her orphanage. It is petis anges de chantel. It is a wonderful orphanage. It is run by Marie and only had about 15 children at any time. It is more home like. Marie is such a caring person. She hasd spent everyday for the pasy 3 weeks at the hospital with my daughter. I can honestly say that I feel better just knowing Marie cares for her. Where is your child?

Oh, are you adopting from the PAC Orphanage? I'm on that Yahoo! Group and saw that you were going down. You'll have so much fun. I assume you are staying at Walls?

Our son is in an orphanage in TiMache run by A Child's Hope Foundation. We're going down to be a part of a work trip with the orphanage, so we will be staying there.

Very exciting times!

Have a GREAT trip! Let us know how it is for you... it seemed like things were quieting down for a while (from a security standpoint) but seem to be flaring up again... *sigh*
